Every facet of Kashmiri life under assault in IIOJK: APHC

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that every aspect of Kashmiri life is under assault by the BJP-led Hindutva regime in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, highlighted that the New Delhi-installed administration in IIOJK under the Lieutenant Governor has undertaken a series of brutal, anti-Kashmir measures, mimicking Israeli settler policies in occupied Palestine. These actions, he added, are aimed at eroding the culture, language, demography, and religious identity of oppressed Kashmiris in the occupied territory.

He emphasized that the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019, was an illegal move, enforced at gunpoint in Kashmir. He further said that since the repeal of these articles, injustices against the people of IIOJK have only intensified, with New Delhi continuing to impose additional repressive and anti-Kashmir measures.

Expressing serious concern over the closure of the Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence in Reasi under pressure from Hindutva parties, the APHC said this move exposed the BJP-RSS’s anti-Kashmir agenda and policies rooted in hatred and division.

The APHC reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory and that the imposition of any unilateral measures by India constitutes a blatant violation of United Nations resolutions.

The spokesman appealed to the international community, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to impress upon India to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions.
