Local Muslims protest against attacks on Kashmiris

Dehradun: Amid the increasing incidents of Hindutva goons, attacking Kashmiri shawl sellers across India, local Muslims have strongly protested against the brutal violence inflicted on two Kashmiri youth by rioters in Dehradun city of Uttarakhand state of India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Hindutva extremists brutally tortured two Kashmiri youth in Vikas Nagar area of Dehradun. The Kashmiri youth had come to Uttarakhand from occupied Kashmir to sell shawls.

Extremist Hindus subjected Kashmiri youths Danish and Tabish, residents of Jammu, to religious and racial discrimination and made objectionable comments about the Pahalgam false flag operation.

On the youths’ protest, the Hindus attacked them and brutally tortured them. Both the youth were seriously injured in the attack.

Local Muslims protested outside the Vikas Nagar police station against the incident. They surrounded the police station carrying the injured Kashmiri youth on their shoulders and raised slogans like “Stop the atrocities on Muslims”.

The protesters said that Muslims are being continuously subjected to reprisals and discrimination on the basis of religion in Uttarakhand.

After the police assured them of strict action against the Hindutva activists involved in the incident, the protesters dispersed peacefully.

The police have registered a case and started an investigation. The police have also arrested an accused named Sanjay Yadav involved in the attack on the Kashmiri youth.
