Mehbooba Mufti slams Modi govt’s silence over US-Israeli aggression against Iran
Burns effigies of Trump and Netanyahu, voices solidarity with Tehran
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has sharply criticized Modi-led Indian government’s silence over the US-Israel aggression against Iran, calling it incomprehensible.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Mehbooba Mufti said, “I fail to understand that we are a democratic country, but neither has our country’s leadership condemned it nor expressed any condolences with the people of Iran despite India’s historically strong relations with the country.”
Mufti also criticized the inaction of the international community, stating that the world order today is in total disarray. She pointed out, “There is no world order. Today, an Epstein goon like Trump can go into Iran and Venezuela along with Epstein master Netanyahu. They are war criminals, and together they go and attack a sovereign country like Iran, and nobody is talking about it.”
In an act of protest, Mehbooba Mufti led a symbolic demonstration by burning effigies of the US President Donald Trump and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. She said, “Our hearts are filled with grief, but we cannot protest outside, so at least we burnt the effigies of these satanic forces, be it Trump or Netanyahu. We want to send a message to the world that the people of [IIOJK] stand with the people of Iran and salute their bravery and sacrifices,” she added.
She also expressed her concern about passive stance of Muslim countries. “Unfortunately, the Muslim countries in the Gulf, Middle East, are watching like mute spectators and tacitly supporting this attack on Iran by providing bases to the Americans. It is regrettable,” she said.
Additionally, Mufti called for the release of the people detained during protests in the Kashmir valley against the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
