Indian army intensifies military operations in Rajouri, Poonch

Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the Indian army has intensified military operations in the Rajouri and Poonch districts, further adding to the already fearful atmosphere in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian army personnel are conducting cordon and search operations and carrying out raids at multiple locations across the twin districts. During these operations, residents are harassed and intimidated, while youths are directed to report to nearly army camps and police stations, where they are pressured to act as informers.

To review the ongoing operations, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Northern Command, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, recently visited Shahsitar in Poonch and Hanjanwali in the Rajouri sector.

“The Army Commander was briefed about the intelligence grid and focused operational capability enhancement measures, vital for sustained operations in a complex security landscape,” an Indian official said.

The escalating military activities in Poonch and Rajouri have further deepened the already prevailing in the area.
