Modi govt expert in increasing unemployment in country: Congress
New Delhi: The main opposition party in India, Congress, has severely criticized the Modi government, saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is an expert in increasing unemployment in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Congress Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, citing a report on social media X, said unemployment in India is on the rise in the Modi regime and due to financial constraints, the youth of the country are forced to abandon education.
He, citing a report by Azim Premji University, said the government has no solution to the huge unemployment crisis and the Modi government is masterminding the increasing unemployment.
It is no wonder that the Prime Minister, in his election speeches, call the creation of social media reels by the youth a major achievement of his government. He said the Prime Minister has no other option, because the unemployment figures among educated, degree-holding youth in India are extremely alarming.
Citing a report, Jairam Ramesh said there are about 11 million unemployed people in the age group of 20 to 29 in the country. He said in 2017, 58 percent of the youth were forced to drop out of their education due to financial constraints, while in 2023, this number has increased to 72 percent. India’s educated youth are standing in line for jobs, but the Modi government does not have jobs for these youth.
