NIA intensifies raids across IIOJK, people slam harassment

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, India’s National Investigation Agency has intensified its crackdown by conducting raids at multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley, raising concerns over continued harassment of civilians.

According to Kashmir Media Service, NIA teams carried out searches at around a dozen locations in different areas, including Handwara and Kulgam, in connection with a so-called terror-related case.

In Handwara, the residence of a local businessman in the Guloora area was raided, where officials examined documents and electronic devices during prolonged search operations.

Similar raids were conducted at several locations in Kulgam district, with searches continuing at multiple sites as part of the ongoing investigation.

During searches operations documents as well as electronic devices were seized. The house raids and searches were continued till last reports came in.
Such frequent raids by Indian agencies have become a routine practice in the occupied territory, often targeting civilians under various pretexts. These actions are aimed at creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation among the local population.

Locals say the investigative agencies are being used as a tool to suppress dissent reflects the repressive approach of the Modi-led Indian government in the territory.
