BJP trying to rig Bengal polls with illegal voters: Mamata

Kolkata : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that the BJP is trying to include illegal voters from Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh in the state’s electoral rolls to influence the election outcome in their favor.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Banerjee said the BJP is planning to transport these voters to polling stations in Asansol and Kharagpur.

The West Bengal CM has written to the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, stating that the Form 6 applications submitted by the BJP are “illegal, unconstitutional, and fundamentally undemocratic”. She also accused the BJP of colluding with the Election Commission to delete names of women and minorities from the electoral rolls.

The TMC supremo has urged voters to consider her as the candidate in all 294 seats and warned that the BJP will impose a ban on non-veg food consumption and implement NRC if they come to power.

According to reports, around 63.66 lakh names have been deleted from the electoral rolls since November last year, and over 60.06 lakh electors are in the “under adjudication” category. KMS-11K
