Medical body seeks release of detained Kashmiri nurse in Saudi Arabia

Srinagar: The All India Medical Students Association has urged the Indian government to intervene in the detention of a Kashmiri nurse, Amjad Ali Butt, in Saudi Arabia.
Amjad, a resident of Pattan in Baramulla district, was detained on March 25 by Saudi Civil Defence Forces. According to AIMSA Vice President Dr Mohammad Momin Khan, the family and employer have received no official information about Butt’s whereabouts or charges.
The detention reportedly followed a social media post, but no formal charges have been confirmed. Dr Khan has urged the intervention to establish contact with Butt and ensure his well-being.
