Iran firm on its principled stance, issues cannot be resolved overnight: Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar: President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti has said that the talks between Iran and the US have not failed, it will take time to resolve the issues between the two countries.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mehbooba Mufti, talking to media representatives after a party rally in Pulwama district, said Tehran is firm on its principled stance and has once again shown courage.

She said that the US wanted whatever achievements Iran got during this war to be handed over to it. “How can this happen? I am happy that Iran remained steadfast and the US had to return empty-handed,” she added.

Mehbooba said she does not think the talks have failed, adding this is a complex issue for which such a big war was fought. She said it is not possible that this problem will be solved overnight.

The PDP President said the world wants the talks to be successful and the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened. She said the closure of Strait of Hormuz has created energy problems for the world as petrol and gas prices have increased and trade has been severely damaged, so the talks should be successful and we should all pray for it.

Meanwhile, Chairman of International Forum for Justice Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in a statement in Srinagar praised Pakistan for its key role in reducing tension between Iran and the US and establishing a ceasefire. He said Pakistan has saved the world from a major disaster through its effective diplomacy and wise strategy.

He said the negotiation process is a clear proof of Pakistan’s diplomatic success, which has not only reduced tension in the region but also raised Pakistan’s prestige at the global level.

He appreciated the vision of the government of Pakistan and the leadership of the Pakistani armed forces, especially Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and said Pakistan has established itself as a guarantor of global peace.

Muhammad Ahsan Untoo said this positive development of Pakistan has also created a new ray of hope among the Kashmiri people that these negotiations will also prove to be a milestone in resolving the Kashmir dispute.
