Four houses gutted as fire breaks out in Srinagar

Srinagar: A massive fire broke out in the Kalwal Mohalla area of Rainawari in Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday evening, damaging at least four residential houses and triggering panic in the densely populated locality.

According to Kashmir Media Service, officials said the blaze erupted late in the evening, following which teams from the Fire and Emergency Services department and police rushed to the spot to launch rescue and firefighting operations.

According to officials, at least four houses were gutted in the incident, while efforts were underway to prevent the flames from spreading to adjacent structures in the congested neighborhood.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known, while no casualties had been reported at the time of filing this report.
