Sikh identity being targeted globally: Akal Takht Jathedar on Bluestar anniversary

Amritsar: Acting Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, said Sikh identity and religious symbols are being “targeted globally” as the community observed the 42nd anniversary of Ghallughara/Operation Bluestar at Golden Temple .
According to Kashmir Media Service, Gargaj urged Sikhs to remain united and connected to Punjab roots. He flagged concerns over delays in Punjab’s anti-sacrilege law and warned against calls for a kirpan ban in the UK, calling it an attack on Sikh religious identity.
Pro-Khalistan slogans were raised by various Sikh organisations during the observance at Akal Takht. The Jathedar stressed protecting Sikh heritage and symbols amid growing global challenges.
