22 Naga women injured in clash with Assam Rifles in Manipur

Ukhrul,: At least 22 Tangkhul Naga women (Meira Paibis) were injured during a confrontation with Assam Rifles personnel, India’s paramilitary force controlled by Home Ministry, in Ukhrul district of Manipur.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred around 3:30-4:00 PM when Naga women torch bearers staged a protest.

The women sustained injuries after a standoff with the paramilitary forces. All 22 injured were confirmed and treated at Ukhrul District Hospital.

The clash has sparked outrage among local communities, who accused the Assam Rifles of using excessive force against peaceful women protesters. Tension remains high in the area following the incident.
