Caste-based abuse, death threats against Dalit woman in UP

Lucknow: A Dalit woman faced caste-based abuse, assault and death threats in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Seema Devi from Kaushambi district’s Bairaspur village submitted a complaint to the Superintendent of Police demanding action against the accused.
She alleged that when her son objected to casteist slurs by a villager, the accused summoned relatives who attacked him with sticks, causing head injuries. When Seema Devi tried to intervene, she was also assaulted. Seema Devi said the accused threatened to kill her family if they approached police. She added the same individuals had assaulted family members earlier.
