DFP urges PM Shehbaz to intensify diplomatic push on Kashmir

Islamabad: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan for playing a constructive diplomatic role in reducing regional tensions and preventing escalation between Iran and the United States.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a letter to the Prime Minister, DFP Acting Chairman Mehmood Ahmed Saghar said Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution has been widely appreciated. He urged Sharif to use the current international focus on diplomacy as an opportunity to intensify initiatives on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, highlighting that a just settlement in line with UN resolutions and Kashmiri aspirations remains key to South Asian peace and stability.

“At a time when the world is confronted with serious security challenges, Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful conflict resolution has been widely appreciated. Such efforts demonstrate that meaningful engagement and negotiations remain the most effective means of achieving lasting peace and stability,” the letter said.

“We fully recognize and appreciate your consistent efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue at various international forums. The people of Jammu and Kashmir remain grateful for Pakistan’s unwavering diplomatic, political, and moral support.”

“Given the current international environment and growing emphasis on peaceful resolution of disputes, this is an opportune moment to intensify diplomatic initiatives and engage influential global actors in support of a meaningful process aimed at resolving the Kashmir dispute,” the letter concluded.
