US think tank flags 523 Hindutva hate songs on YouTube, Spotify, Meta, Apple Music

Washington : A Washington-based think tank has flagged 523 Hindutva hate songs on major platforms that violate content policies by promoting hatred and inciting violence against religious minorities, primarily Muslims and Christians.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Center for the Study of Organized Hate (CSOH) in its June 15, 2026 report “Profiting from Hate Music” identified the Hindutva pop music ecosystem, or “H-Pop”, as a distinct form of hate speech targeting religious minorities.
The report said YouTube hosts 210 hate songs by 98 artists, including singers and DJs, with 104 songs containing direct incitement or threats of violence against Muslims. These have collectively received at least 97 million views despite violating YouTube’s guidelines.
CSOH also identified 109 hate songs on Spotify by 53 artists, 103 songs on Meta’s Music Library, and 101 songs on Apple Music by 59 artists. The remaining songs allegedly use dehumanizing language, slurs, and conspiracy theories to cultivate fear and hostility.
The report said several songs contain explicit calls to eliminate, attack, or expel Muslims and Christians from India to establish an exclusively Hindu nation. CSOH urged YouTube, Meta, Spotify, and Apple Music to enforce content policies and curb spread and monetization of hate music.
