Situation in India currently very worrying: Maulana Madani

New Delhi : President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Maulana Arshad Madani has said that the situation in India is currently very worrying as the Constitution and democracy are being strangled .
According to Kashmir Media Service, Maulana Arshad Madani, while talking to media persons after addressing the meeting of the Uttarakhand state executive committee, said the chain of discrimination, injustice and hatred in the country has reached its peak and those in power have started considering themselves as the law .
He said the spirit of the constitution is being undermined and democratic institutions are being weakened and India is touching the last mark of destruction, the consequences of which may be serious for the entire country.
Maulana Madani said bulldozers have become a symbol of politics of revenge, prejudice and hatred, ignoring the law and courts, people’s homes, shops and places of worship are being demolished and the Constitution is being violated.
He said that the scholars of the same institutions on which bulldozers are being driven today had first issued a fatwa of freedom (jihad) against British colonialism in 1803 and then as a result, the freedom fighters led the freedom movement and sacrificed their lives for freedom from British slavery.
He said unfortunately today these same institutions are being targeted on the basis of prejudice and hatred. He said in the past few years, the government’s open support for sectarians and the silence of legal institutions have given rise to the politics of hatred, which has severely damaged the centuries-old values that have been a part of the old civilization and traditions of our country.
Maulana Madani said that the most regrettable thing is that today Muslims are being asked for certificates of patriotism and loyalty by those whose ancestors have been recorded in history with apologies and reconciliation with the British government, while Muslims and their leaders have made sacrifices, spent time in prisons and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.
He urged Muslims to adopt the path of patience, good morals, love, tolerance and peace in all circumstances and not to respond to any hatred with hatred but with their best character, their morals and their good behavior because Islam is a religion of humanity, love and brotherhood.
