Congress to hold ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ protest on education issues in Srinagar

Jammu,: Congress announced it will hold a ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ protest in Srinagar on August 1 as part of a 40-day India-wide campaign on education issues.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Srinagar is among 28 cities chosen for the outreach, which will end with a “Delhi Chalo” march to Indian Parliament on August 9.

Addressing media in Jammu, former Rajasthan MLA Divya Maderna said the campaign will engage students and raise concerns over exam irregularities, paper leaks and pressure on aspirants. She said that repeated leaks in exams like NEET had impacted students and criticised the National Testing Agency.

Congress Secretary Co-Incharge for IIIOJK Pargat Singh also spoke at the briefing, raising issues related to jobs and farmer concerns. Congress said the August 1 Srinagar protest will be followed by the India-wide Delhi march.
