Rajouri military operation enters 40th day today

Srinagar : The massive cordon and search operation entered its 40th day in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian Army troops, Central Reserve Police Force personnel, elite commandos and police are continuing extensive searches in the forested terrain of Mughlan and Manjakote areas.
Residents of nearby villages reported intermittent firing by Indian forces from inside the forest. Forces also searched several natural caves in the area but found nothing so far. The forests of Rajouri and Poonch in the Pir Panjal region have numerous natural caves.
General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, Lt Gen P.K. Mishra recently visited the headquarters of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) to review the security situation and operational preparedness.
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan also visited Rajouri and Poonch and directed intensification of operations. The area remains fully cordoned off with no media access, while locals continue to be interrogated inside their homes.
