JIH expresses concern over ongoing demolition operations against mosques, dargahs in India

New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has expressed serious concern over the ongoing demolition operations against mosques, dargahs, madrasas and residential areas in various states of India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind leaders while addressing a press conference in New Delhi said these operations are being carried out under political motivations and legal procedures are being completely ignored.

They said mosques, dargahs, madrasas and Muslim residential areas are being targeted in various states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and New Delhi, a specific section is being disproportionately targeted, which is completely against the principle of constitutional equality.

Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Muhammad Salim Engineer said such selective operations against religious places are extremely worrying. He said the BJP government wants to rule by creating fear and terror in the hearts of the people and the demolition operations are being carried out under political motivations and the legal requirements and prescribed procedures are not being followed at all.
