Cordon and search operation continues in Shopian on 3rd day
Residents in six villages asked to stay indoors

Srinagar: Indian forces continued their cordon and search operation (CASO) for the third consecutive day today in Shopian district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the cordon and search operation was launched by the Indian army’s Rashtriya Rifles, para commandos, paramilitary forces and Special Operations Group on Friday night in Meemandar and other areas of Shopian, an Indian police official said, claiming that the operation was prompted by inputs regarding the presence of ‘militants’ in the area.
Indian forces threatened people of six villages against venturing out their houses, and visiting their apple and agricultural gardens, and to shut down their business centers.
Earlier, an Indian media outlet claimed that during the cordon and search operation, two youth were killed in Chanpora village of the district, while Indian forces officials have not yet confirmed it and said the operation continues in Chanapora area.
