Congress targets Modi over Ram Temple donation scam, seeks SC-monitored probe

Jammu: Indian National Congress has reiterated its demand for Supreme Court-monitored high-level probe into the financial irregularities involving donations to the Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust.
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing a press conference in Jammu, All India Congress Committee (AICC) Media and Publicity Department Chairman and Member of Parliament Pawan Khera criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for maintaining what he described as “silence” over the controversy. He was accompanied by IIOJK Congress Working President Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravider Sharma and other senior party leaders.
Khera said that the reported financial irregularities had caused widespread resentment among Hindus and hurt their religious sentiments.
He demanded an impartial and independent investigation headed by a sitting or retired High Court judge under the supervision of the Supreme Court, saying the public had lost confidence in the existing Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Khera also called for the Ram Temple Trust to be reconstituted under the supervision of religious and spiritual leaders, including Shankaracharyas.
He said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) were complicit in the donation scam, and urged Prime Minister Modi to break his silence, apologize to the nation and ensure accountability for those responsible.
