APHC-AJK delegation meets Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan leadership
July 19 Accession to Pakistan Day events, Kashmir situation discussed
Gilgit: A high-level delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, led by Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, visited the central office of Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Gilgit, where the two sides held detailed discussions on preparations for the July 19 Accession to Pakistan Day events and the prevailing situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting reviewed arrangements for the public rally and gathering to be held in Gilgit on July 19, with particular focus on ensuring maximum public participation and effectively highlighting the Kashmir dispute.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Muhammad Safi said the July 19, 1947 Accession to Pakistan Resolution symbolizes the historic resolve of the Kashmiri people and their unwavering bond with Pakistan. He said the people of all regions of the State of Jammu and Kashmir are entitled to their UN-recognized right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions.
Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Mufti Tanveer Haideri reaffirmed his party’s unwavering support for the just struggle of the Kashmiri people, saying the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have always stood by Kashmiris and that Jamaat-e-Islami would extend full cooperation to ensure the success of the July 19 commemorative events.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their resolve to continue highlighting the Kashmir dispute at the international level, support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, and observe the July 19 Accession to Pakistan Day with full enthusiasm.
The APHC delegation comprised General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmad Shah, Raja Khadim Hussain Shaheen, Syed Ejaz Rehmani, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Zahid Safi, Zahid Ashraf and Kausar Iqbal. They were received by Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Mufti Tanveer Haideri, Deputy Amir Maulana Sami, General Secretary Salis, Ismail Shariat Yar and other party leaders.
