Farooq Rahmani pays tribute to 1947 freedom fighters
Islamabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir senior leader and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League Muhammad Farooq Rahmani has paid rich tributes to the founding President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, the leadership of the Muslim Conference, their comrades and all those freedom fighters who played a historic and key role in passing the resolution of accession to Pakistan in Srinagar on July 19, 1947, under very difficult and turbulent circumstances.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Farooq Rahmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said the establishment of Azad Jammu and Kashmir as a base camp of the freedom movement was a great historical achievement, especially for the youth of the territory, which later paved the way for several resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, which recognized the right to self-determination of the entire people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Farooq Rahmani urged the government and people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to take practical steps to make this region a truly welfare, democratic and people-friendly state and renew their commitment to the liberation of the remaining part of the state which is under illegal occupation of India.
He strongly condemned the killing of an innocent youth by Indian forces in Bhaderwah area of Doda district and said the siege and search operations by Indian forces in different areas of occupied Jammu and Kashmir are unprovoked and oppressive measures.
