Indian BSF soldier kills two colleagues, injures another at West Bengal Camp
Kolkata: An Indian Border Security Force (BSF) soldier shot dead two fellow BSF personnel and critically injured another inside the BSF Sector Headquarters in the BJP-ruled Indian state of West Bengal.
According to Kashmir Media Service, two BSF personnel of the 71st Battalion, identified as Ajay Kumar Singh, 51, a resident of Bihar, and Ambadas Suresh Durgu, 37, a resident of Maharashtra, were killed, while another soldier, Vikas Verma, sustained critical injuries after a fellow soldier opened fire inside the BSF 17 Mile Sector Headquarters in Malda district.
The firing took place at the Sector Headquarters in Baishnabnagar, which houses the headquarters of the 119th and 71st Battalions.
According to preliminary information, a BSF man of the 119th Battalion opened fire on personnel of the 71st Battalion while they were resting inside the camp.
The accused has been identified as Shivam Mishra, a resident of Chhattisgarh. He was arrested immediately after the incident. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
