Farooq Abdullah urges Indian Parliament to restore IIOJK’s statehood

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has urged the Indian Parliament to introduce and pass a bill for the restoration of the territory’s statehood during the ongoing Monsoon Session.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, Farooq Abdullah said the people of IIOJK had waited long enough for the restoration of statehood.

“Restoration of statehood is not merely a political demand but a constitutional and democratic imperative,” he said.

The NC president called on the Indian Parliament to use the ongoing session to fulfil the repeated assurances made by the BJP-led Indian government by restoring IIOJK’s statehood and the democratic rights and dignity of its people without any further delay.
