Mudslide hits Srinagar-Leh highway near Sonamarg
Srinagar: A massive mudslide due to a possible cloudburst hit the Ranga Mode area of Sonamarg along the Srinagar-Leh highway .
According to Kashmir Media Service, it also caused a significant rise in water levels in the river.
The mudslide resulted in blocking the Srinagar-Leh Road and affecting the Sarbal road.
Officials said the traffic has been suspended at both TCPs as a precaution and people have been advised to avoid going near riverbanks and stay away from water channels.
