IIOJK medical college employees continue protest amid authorities’ indifference, service uncertainty

Srinagar : In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the indefinite protest by non-gazetted employees of the five new government medical colleges entered its fourth consecutive day today against the authorities’ indifference to their genuine demands.
According to Kashmir Media Service, employees of the government medical colleges in Islamabad, Baramulla, Doda, Kathua and Rajouri have been on an indefinite peaceful protest since August 17, demanding finalization and notification of their recruitment and service rules.
The protesting employees said that despite four days of peaceful demonstration, the Health & Medical Education Department has yet to provide any concrete response, official communication or meaningful intervention.
They said the delay has created uncertainty regarding their service conditions, promotions, career progression and future prospects, despite employees having served for several years at the newly established institutions.
The employees termed their demand legitimate and reasonable, urging the IIOJK administration and senior officials of the Health and Medical Education Department to immediately address the issue and notify the service rules.
They said they were compelled to continue their peaceful protest due to the prolonged delay and the authorities’ failure to provide a concrete response.
