India flouts international laws to maintain its occupation of J&K: APHC
Calls out arbitrary arrests, property seizures, and home demolitions

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the ongoing seizure of properties and demolition of homes of Kashmiris by the Delhi-imposed administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), calling these actions the worst form of political vengeance.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar said that India is flagrantly violating international human rights laws and norms to maintain its illegal occupation of Kashmir. He said that the Modi government has intensified its brutal campaign to imprison pro-freedom Kashmiris on fabricated charges to break their morale, adding that property confiscations and home demolitions have become routine measures of repression.
Minhas condemned the recent seizure of properties belonging to former High Court Bar Association president Mian Abdul Qayoom and Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yaqoob Sheikh in IIOJK, stressing that such coercive tactics cannot deter Kashmiris from their struggle for right to self-determination. He urged the international community to take notice of India’s escalating oppression and play a role in resolving the Kashmir dispute.
Meanwhile, pro-freedom organizations, including the Jammu & Kashmir Muslim League, Jammu & Kashmir Peoples League, Democratic Freedom Party, and Young Men’s League, in their statements from Srinagar, also expressed grave concern over growing repression, illegal detentions, property seizures, and employee dismissals in the occupied territory. They said that India cannot suppress the Kashmiris’ spirit of freedom through its repressive measures. They emphasized that Jammu & Kashmir remains a disputed region whose political status is yet to be determined, and that India’s military coercion cannot suppress the Kashmiri people’s aspiration for freedom. They affirmed that Kashmiris will succeed in their just struggle and that occupied Jammu & Kashmir will eventually be freed from Indian occupation.
Separately, APHC-AJK chapter General Secretary Parvez Ahmed Shah, Secretary Information Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, and Zahid Ashraf, in their statements in Islamabad, expressed deep concern over the increasing Indian tyranny in IIOJK. They strongly condemned the seizure of Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yaqoob Sheikh’s house and land in Pampore, Pulwama, stating that India cannot intimidate Hurriyat leaders and activists through such colonial-style tactics. They affirmed that Kashmiris will not rest until the noble mission of their martyrs is fulfilled.
