Students’ protests against examination irregularities intensify in India

New Delh: Students’ protests against educational mismanagement, recruitment irregularities and lack of transparency in examinations are intensifying in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, civil services candidates in the state of Bihar took to the streets in support of their demands.
According to the Indian newspaper Deccan Herald, students have been protesting against alleged recruitment irregularities, delay in examinations and paper leaks for a long time.
The protesters are demanding that the examination process be made transparent and that opportunities be provided to the youth on merit.
In its analysis of the protest, the Deccan Herald has called the police action a question on the governance and behavior of the BJP government.
On the other hand, the protesting students claim that the police resorted to lathi-charge, water cannon and arrests to disperse the protesters.
Citizens have also expressed concern over the police violence and arrests.
Protest leader Aman Kumar says that the youth movement against the deteriorating education system and paper leak scandals will continue until the Education Minister resigns.
Meanwhile, the Modi government is accused of trying to crush the protests through lathi-charge, water cannon and forcible arrests instead of accepting the demands of the students.
Position leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the Modi government is using the police as a weapon to avoid accountability. He said this is not just a police action but a serious question on the governance and mentality of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
