Anganwadi workers, helpers protest in Jammu, demand hike in honorarium

Srinagar: Anganwadi workers and helpers staged a protest in Jammu, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir today, demanding an increase in their monthly honorarium from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesting workers urged the authorities to approve the proposed enhancement at the earliest, saying the existing honorarium was inadequate.

The workers and helpers raised their demand during the demonstration and called for an early decision from the authorities on the revision of their honorarium.

The protest comes amid their demand for better financial compensation for the services they provide through Anganwadi centres.

The protesters sought government intervention to address their demand and ensure that the proposed increase in honorarium is implemented without further delay.
