Rich tributes continue to pour in for iconic leader Syed Ali Gilani on 5th anniversary

Srinagar: Hurriyat leaders and people across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir paid rich tributes to veteran Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani on his fifth martyrdom anniversary being observed today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a function was held by Hurriyat members in Sopore area highlighting the supreme sacrifices and indomitable role of the towering resistance leader.
The speakers said the lifelong struggle of the martyred leader for the cause of Kashmir would be remembered for a long time in the annals of Kashmir history. They said Syed Ali Gilani remained steadfast to his ideals despite enduring trials and tribulations throughout his life. His devotion, dedication, stand and unwavering commitment to the noble cause of freedom would continue to inspire future generations of Kashmiris, they added.
The speakers, while paying tributes to other martyrs, reiterated that the sacrifices of Kashmiris will not go in vain and urged people to remember the sacrifices of martyrs for the just cause. Indoor prayer sessions were also held in different areas. The participants said that the struggle of Syed Ali Gilani was a golden chapter in the history of the Kashmir freedom movement. They paid glowing tributes to the veteran leader and reiterated their pledge to continue the struggle for freedom of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Indian authorities deployed forces personnel around the grave of Syed Ali Gilani at Hyderpora in Srinagar to prevent people from offering Fateha for the veteran leader on his fifth martyrdom anniversary.
