Syed Ali Gilani’s lifelong struggle, sacrifices remembered at Pakistan Monument Islamabad
Islamabad: A grand ceremony was organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter at Pakistan Monument in Islamabad today to pay tribute to veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani on his fifth martyrdom anniversary.
According to Kashmir Media Service, various political, social and religious figures, businessmen, students and teachers participated.
The ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmed, Chairman of Sweet Homes Zamrud Khan, General Secretary of Capital Development Authority Mazdoor Union Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, Chief Executive of Mazin Schools and Dar-e-Arqam Malik Muhammad Azhar, Director of AIIMS School Abdul Wahab and a large number of students.
The speakers paid a rich tribute to the eternal struggle, unparalleled sacrifices and invaluable services of Syed Ali Gilani for the Kashmir freedom movement.
They said that Syed Ali Gilani was an epoch-making figure, a great freedom fighter and a strong advocate of the ideology of accession to Pakistan. They added tha he dedicated his entire life to the Kashmir freedom movement and despite Indian state oppression, imprisonment and immense difficulties, he never backed down from his principled stand.
The speakers said that Syed Ali Gilani did not just utter the slogan “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours” with his words but proved it with his entire life’s actions and remained steadfast on this ideology till the last moment.
They said that Syed Geelani’s struggle, sacrifices and ideological perseverance are a beacon of light for the Kashmiri nation. It is our national, civic and moral responsibility to complete his mission to achieve the ideology of accession to Pakistan and the right to self-determination, they maintained.
The speakers expressed their determination that the thoughts, ideology and struggle of Syed Ali Gilani will be passed on to the new generation and the message he gave will be kept alive.
The participants paid tribute to the veteran Hurriyat leader and expressed their determination to follow his thoughts and ideas and fulfill their responsibilities for the freedom of Kashmir. They also raised slogans in favour of accession to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif also paid tribute to the veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani’s in beautiful words on his fifth martyrdom anniversary.

Malik Kifayat Rehman, Deputy Speaker of Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Engineer Khalid Mahmood, Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Arshad Hussain, President of Kashmir Council, Canada, Abdul Sattar, former MPA of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Pakistan Minority Group Bishop Siddiq Amanat, Bishop Istra, students of Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi Medical University paid tribute to the veteran Hurriyat leader.
