Muslim teacher shot dead in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: A Muslim government school teacher was shot dead in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, a state ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the teacher, identified as Naushad Ahmad, was attacked by an armed man with a Hindutva mindset near the gate of a primary school in Saupuri village. The attacker, identified as Gaurav Rathi, opened fire with a pistol before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Two bullets struck Ahmad in the chest, while another hit the school wall.
Ahmad, who was critically injured in the attack, was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The teacher was reportedly returning home when he was attacked near the school gate.
The motive for the killing has not been officially established. However, the incident has prompted concerns and discussion about communal hostility or anti-Muslim may have played a role.
The killing has also sparked discussion on social media, with users calling for a prompt investigation and justice for the victim.
One user on X wrote: “I hope there will be swift and strict justice soon, and the culprits will be punished promptly. Teacher Naushad Ahmad should get justice.”
