Journalist Arfa backs student leader Neha Bora after Lucknow event

Lucknow: Journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani has publicly backed student leader Neha Bora after her appearance at a youth gathering in Lucknow.
In a post on X, Sherwani described Bora as a “fearless woman” while sharing a strong message of support for the All India Students’ Association (AISA) national president. Her post came shortly after Bora addressed the ‘Lucknow with GenZ’ programme.
The event, organised as part of AISA’s ‘GenZ Rising’ campaign, focused on issues including education, unemployment, recruitment examinations and democratic rights. Bora said student protests were emerging in different parts of the country over these concerns.
The programme also drew attention because of the security arrangements around the venue. Bora’s remarks about the Uttar Pradesh government and student issues have since generated reactions from supporters and critics on social media.
Sherwani’s post has added another prominent voice to the discussion surrounding Bora and the student movement, with the two women’s statements becoming part of the wider online debate over youth activism and political dissent in India.
