PM Shehbaz Sharif strongly voiced Kashmiris’ sentiments at UNGA: APHC

India using every brutal tactic to suppress Kashmiris’ demand for freedom: Spokesman

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (APHC), the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has thanked Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for highlighting the Kashmir dispute and the grave human rights violations being committed by Indian forces against unarmed Kashmiris in his address to the United Nations General Assembly.

APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that the Kashmiri people were deeply grateful to Pakistan for strongly representing their just cause at international forums and expressing unequivocal support for their right to self-determination.

He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had fully represented the sentiments of the Kashmiri people, who were victims of Indian oppression, at a major global forum, boosting their morale. He said the Kashmiri people highly valued Pakistan’s role in highlighting the Kashmir dispute and supporting their right to self-determination.

Minhas said India had been occupying Jammu and Kashmir through military force for nearly eight decades and was using every brutal tactic to suppress the Kashmiris’ voice for freedom. He said Pakistan remained a strong supporter of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and continued to raise its voice for the realization of this right at every international forum.

He said the Kashmir dispute was fundamentally a political and humanitarian issue that could not be resolved through military force, but only through a meaningful dialogue process involving all parties.

He said the United Nations resolutions provided the best solution to the Kashmir dispute and urged India to abandon its intransigent and unrealistic approach and create an environment conducive to the implementation of the resolutions.

The APHC spokesman also called upon the United Nations and the international community to take notice of India’s naked aggression against the Kashmiri people and play their role in resolving the Kashmir dispute.
