IIOJK: Indian administration confiscates properties of two Kashmiris

Srinagar: Continuing its campaign of seizing properties belonging to Kashmiris in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian administration today confiscated the assets of two individuals in Kupwara district.

Police confiscated eight kanals and 13 marlas of land belonging to Fayaz Ahmed Butt and Manzoor Ahmed Lone in the Koharu and Udipora areas of Langate under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The value of the land is estimated at approximately 10 million (one crore) rupees. The confiscated land comprised one kanal and two marlas belonging to Fayaz Ahmed Butt, and seven kanals and eleven marlas belonging to Manzoor Ahmed Lone.

It is worth noting that since revoking the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian government has intensified the seizure of homes, land, and other properties belonging to Kashmiris.

The objective behind this move is to economically weaken the Kashmiri people and advance a sinister agenda of altering the demographic composition of the territory by handing over the confiscated properties to non-Kashmiri Indian Hindus.
