IIOJK: Mehbooba Mufti concerned about construction of commercial multi-story buildings on farm land
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has expressed concern over the use of agricultural and orchard land for the construction of commercial multi-story buildings in the territory.
Warns such development can pose threat to food security
Mehbooba Mufti, in a post on the social media platform X, warned that such development could pose a threat to food security and expose the population to serious earthquake-related risks.
She questioned the administration’s development plans, noting that agricultural and horticultural land is being used for commercial construction despite warnings about seismic risks.
She said, “This is not development, but rather a dangerous gamble with our land, our food security, and the lives of our people.” She asked who would bear responsibility when this reckless move eventually leads to a disaster.
