Pakistan concerned over Yasin Malik’s hunger strike, declining health in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail

Islamabad: Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has said that Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the hunger strike and declining health of Kashmiri Hurriyat leader and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik in New Delhi’s notorious Tihar Jail where India has imprisoned him in false cases.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly press briefing in Islamabad today said Pakistan is deeply concerned about the declining health of Muhammad Yasin Malik, adding he should be provided immediate medical facilities. She said Pakistan also demands immediate release of Yasin Malik.

The spokesperson said Pakistan also demands an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and strongly condemns the Israeli aggression in Gaza. The United Nations should play its role in stopping the genocide in Gaza and Israel should be investigated for war crimes in Gaza, she added.

She said, “We welcome the report of the United Nations on the situation in Gaza because of the Israeli attacks, the Palestinians who are waiting for urgent medical assistance are facing difficulties in getting help.”

To a question, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan have congratulated the newly elected US President, Donald Trump.
It should be remembered that Muhammad Yasin has been on hunger strike for the last seven days in Tihar Jail against non-provision of medical facilities.
