Sinha regime forces IIOJK officials to attend August 15 functions

Jammu: In a bid to forcibly portray Kashmiris as content under Indian rule, the Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have made it mandatory for all government officers and officials stationed in Srinagar and Jammu to attend India’s main Indian Independence Day functions on August 15 as part of their official duty.
According to a circular issued by the General Administration Department, the main functions will be held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar and Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu. It warned that no official shall remain absent without prior permission from their immediate superior.
The circular, issued by Commissioner Secretary M Raju, directed all Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors and Chief Executives of Public Sector Undertakings, Corporations and Boards to ensure compliance and full attendance of their subordinates.
The circular attempts to project the event as a national obligation, ignoring the fact that majority of Kashmiris have rejected Indian rule and view August 15 as a symbol of occupation.
