Modi should announce restoration of statehood to IIOJK today: Minister
Srinagar: Minister in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir Satish Sharma has urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce restoration of statehood to the territory during his Independence Day speech at the Red Fort in New Delhi.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Satish Sharma was responding to questions from reporters about the Indian Supreme Court giving the Indian government eight weeks to file a response on a plea seeking the restoration of statehood to occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
“The PM should make an announcement only for something that we may get after eight weeks,” he said. The minister, however, said the Supreme Court should consider every aspect and return the dignity of the people of Kashmir.
