Indian Army-controlled VDG member found dead in Ramban
Jammu: An Indian Army-controlled Village Defence Guard (VDG) member was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Ramban district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased, identified as 35-year-old Bittu Ram, was discovered dead in a gorge near the Nayabat office in the Balihote area of the district.
Family members had launched a search operation on Wednesday and eventually found his body in the gorge. While police have initiated an investigation, locals suspect wrongdoing behind his death.
Police teams, along with officials from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and crime photographers, reached the site upon receiving information. The body was retrieved from the gorge and shifted to the mortuary at District Hospital Ramban.
After conducting post-mortem and completing other legal formalities, police handed over the body to the family for last rites.
