Hindutva mob attacks minor Muslim girl, family in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: A disturbing incident of communal violence has emerged from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a group of men associated with Hindutva organizations brutally attacked the family of a minor Muslim girl. The assault, marked by hate-filled slogans and obscene abuse, has sparked widespread outrage over the rising Islamophobic culture and the inaction of local authorities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the attack occurred in the Tulsi Niketan area of rural Ghaziabad after a video of the girl, in which she stated she would eat beef, went viral. The mob, led by Hindutva figure Daksh Chaudhary and joined by Prakash Singh, Annu, Akku, Amit, and Abhishek, stormed the family’s home. The attackers, affiliated with the Bajrang Dal and Hindu Raksha Dal, shouted Islamophobic slurs, attempted to force their way into the house, and hurled obscene and threatening abuse at the girl’s mother.
Daksh Chaudhary, who instigated the attack, has a long history of violence and hate-driven activities. His criminal record includes assaulting former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, physically attacking Rohingya Muslim refugees, and attempting to disrupt public order by wearing shoes inside a mosque in Ghaziabad. Despite multiple FIRs filed against him, Chaudhary remains free, continuing to promote anti-Muslim rhetoric, especially through his large social media following.
Following the attack, Pinki Chaudhary, the Hindu Raksha Dal chief known for his hate speeches against Muslims, joined the campaign of hate. In several videos, he called for the arrest of the girl and even suggested demolishing her family’s house using bulldozers.
In the aftermath, an FIR was filed at Tila Mod Police Station, but rather than arresting the attackers, the police took the extraordinary step of detaining the Muslim girl. Disturbingly, a video surfaced showing the girl, bruised and forced to apologize in front of the police, with Daksh Chaudhary himself recording the scene. In a chilling follow-up video, Chaudhary gloated, saying, “If you speak against Hindutva, this is the fate you’ll meet.”
The incident is a stark reminder of the growing climate of Islamophobia in India and the deepening divide in Indian society, where political and religious intolerance are allowed to flourish unchecked.
