Goons beat Indian police officer to death in Haryana
New Delhi: An Indian police sub-inspector of Haryana Police was beaten to death by a group of hooligans in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state Haryana.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the police sub-inspector, identified as Ramesh Kumar (57), was beaten to death by a group of hooligans outside his house at Shamlal Dhani in Hisar town of the state.
The attackers left vehicles behind after the attack.
The victim, who was posted with the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) office in Hisar, tried to stop a group of youth from creating disturbance in his neighborhood. However, the youth returned after some time and started hurling abuses while standing outside his house.
When he came out of the house, he was attacked with bricks and sticks, resulting in his death on the spot. The assailants fled from the spot leaving behind a car and two two-wheelers.
Senior police officials reached the spot on receiving the information and started an investigation.
The police have registered a case against the accused for murder and also seized the vehicles left at the crime spot.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old youth, identified as Ajit Singh Chaudhary, medical student from Alwar district of Rajasthan state, who had been missing in Russia since October 19, was found dead near a dam in Ufa city of Russia.
The student has been pursuing an MBBS degree at Bashkir State Medical University since 2023.
