Bangladesh should be in T20 World Cup: Mohsin Naqvi

Lahore: Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that Bangladesh should be in the T20 World Cup.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mohsin Naqvi while talking to media representatives in Lahore said Bangladesh is a country of equal status in the International Cricket Council (ICC) and if India is given favour in the matter with Pakistan, then Bangladesh should also get it.

He said this is a double standard, a country cannot dictate to anyone, if dictation happens then Pakistan also has a stance and Pakistan will stick to its stance.

He said that he cannot go into details now and will give details when needed. He said that the decision regarding participation in the T20 World Cup will be taken by the government of Pakistan, adding they are waiting for the arrival of the Prime Minister to take a final decision regarding participation in the World Cup.

He said at the moment, the Prime Minister of Pakistan is not in the country, adding first, the government should announce the decision, then the ABC plan is ready.

To a question Mohsin Naqvi said that a decision was also made on May 10, then after that, we did not see what will happen next.

It should be remembered that the ICC has included Scotland in the T20 World Cup to be held in India instead of Bangladesh.

Scotland has been placed in Group C of the T20 World Cup with Italy, Nepal, West Indies and England. On the other hand, sources in the Bangladesh Cricket Board say that the ICC has informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board of the decision.

Bangladesh had refused to send its team to India due to security concerns in India and after fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was excluded from the Indian Premier League.
