Prolonged power shutdown cripples life in Baramulla, two people dead

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, villages in Baramulla and Kandi areas have been without electricity for the past many days, sparking widespread resentment.
According to Kashmir Media Service, residents complained that authorities have failed to restore power, leaving them to suffer in harsh winter conditions.
The outage has crippled daily life, with patients, students, and the elderly facing immense hardship.
Locals accused the negligence of the authorities, citing the installation of smart meters without upgrading infrastructure. “Electricity bills arrive on time, but power is disconnected for days. What is the purpose of paying monthly bills when there’s no electricity?” questioned Manzoor Ahmed, a resident.
The authorities’ apathy is staggering, with two recent deaths in the area going unaddressed due to the power outage. It’s time the relevant department is held accountable for its failure to provide basic amenities to the people.
