Modi’s support for US-Israeli strikes on Iran a humiliating submission: Kerala CM

‘Zionists and RSS are like ideological twins,’ says Vijayan

Kozhikode (Kerala), : Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has strongly criticized the Narendra Modi government’s stance on the US-Israel strikes on Iran, calling New Delhi’s position an “extremely humiliating submission” before imperial powers.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Kerala CM was addressing an anti-war rally in Kerala’s coastal city of Kozhikode to express solidarity with Iran and protest against the US–Israel military actions. The demonstration was organised by the Left Democratic Front (LDF).

“The country is being tied to imperial powers and surrendering before them. This must be viewed seriously. Strong public opinion should arise against this, and the Indian government should correct its position,” said Pinarayi Vijayan, adding that Iran had historically stood as a friendly nation to India. “Because of the present position of the Indian government, the people of India feel humiliated,” he said.

Vijayan said that despite large-scale killings of civilians in Gaza and Iran by Israel and the United States, the Indian government had not been willing to speak out against American imperialism. “Instead, Modi adopted a position supportive of Israel. Even as Israel unleashed attacks, we saw the Indian Prime Minister embracing the Israeli Prime Minister. This did not happen accidentally. The message we are sending to the world is that India stands with Israel,” he said.

He further referred to an incident in which an Iranian ship returning after participating in a joint military exercise in India was attacked by the US, leading to the deaths of dozens of sailors. “These were our guests. The Centre (Indian govt) did not condemn the attack. Such silence reflects nothing but shameful submission,” he said.

Vijayan also drew a parallel between Israel’s Zionists and India’s RSS, calling them “ideological twins,” which he said explains the government’s unwavering support for Israel.

He noted that global public opinion largely opposes the US-Israel attacks and asserted that the real motive behind the attack is Washington’s vested interest in controlling a major share of the world’s oil resources.
