Muslim youth beaten to death by Hindutva goons after train altercation in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: In yet another incident highlighting the growing insecurity of Muslims in Modi’s India, a 24-year-old Muslim youth was beaten to death after being dragged out of a train by Hindutva goons in the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim, Ali Khan, a resident of Chhindwara district, was travelling with three friends on a vacation trip when a dispute over a seat broke out with another passenger.

Reports said the argument escalated after the passenger claimed links with a Hindu right-wing organization and intimidated Khan. Although fellow passengers initially intervened and defused the situation, the dispute took a deadly turn later in the night.

Khan’s companions said that when the train stopped at Bordehi railway station in Betul district around midnight, a group of men chanting Hindutva slogans forcibly dragged him out of the train and brutally assaulted him on the platform.

Fearing for their own safety, Khan’s friends moved to another coach and later informed the police. Family members and companions said the merciless assault resulted in Khan’s death on the spot.

Government Railway Police Station House Officer Pramod Patil said a case was being registered and investigators were examining CCTV footage and collecting evidence to identify those involved in the killing. Authorities have not publicly confirmed the motive behind the killing or announced arrests.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns over growing anti-Muslim violence in India, where human rights groups and minority organizations have repeatedly documented cases of mob lynching, religious profiling and vigilante attacks targeting Muslims.
