Massive fire breaks out in Reasi’s Salal forest area

Jammu: A massive fire broke out today in Salal forest area of Reasi district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Forest Department and Fire and Emergency Services have launched an operation to control the fire.
The fire spread rapidly in several parts of the forest due to dry vegetation, rising temperatures and strong winds, posing a serious threat to the forest ecosystem.
Firefighting teams were immediately rushed to the affected area and intensive efforts were made to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to the adjacent forest areas.
Officials said the current dry weather conditions and strong winds have complicated the firefighting operations, and officials are working on a war footing to bring the situation under control.
Authorities are continuously monitoring the affected area and are deploying all available resources to minimize environmental damage and protect nearby forest areas.
No casualties or damage to property have been reported, so far.
Officials said efforts are focused on preventing the fire from reaching populated areas and further into the forest.
