BJP leaders assault school principal over Urdu teaching in Telangana

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders stormed Bharat Chandra School and slapped the school principal for teaching Urdu in Telangana.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a tense incident, BJP leaders stormed Bharat Chandra School in Armoor, Nizamabad district, and slapped school principal Amir Khan in the presence of police officials. The Hindutva party activists, led by BJP town president Balu and others, objected to the teaching of Urdu in the private school. They claimed that their children were being taught Urdu songs and the “kalma”, and that their books contained Urdu writings, which they said had led to noticeable behavioural changes among the students.
Armoor Station House Officer Satyanarayana confirmed that a case has also been filed against school principal Amir Khan, Urdu teacher Huma, and school correspondent Mallaiah. They have been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for allegedly teaching Urdu in the school. The episode has sparked concerns over language education and Hindutva communal assertion in the region.
