CJP protest: Sonam Wangchuk loses 6kg as hunger strike enters day 8

New Delhi: Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has lost nearly six kilograms since beginning his indefinite hunger strike, which entered its eighth day, today, as the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation and accountability over examination irregularities completed 16 days.City & Local Guides

According to a health bulletin issued by doctors, Wangchuk’s blood pressure was recorded at 112/70 mm Hg while lying down, his heart rate stood at 72 beats per minute and his blood sugar level was 67 mg/dL.

Doctors said he remains mentally alert with fair hydration, while his weight has dropped to 60.95 kg — a loss of around six kg in a week.
